About Our Church
Church
History
There have been Methodist churches in Prescot and Whiston since the early nineteenth century

In 2011, Prescot and Whiston churches were amalgamated after Whiston Church was closed.
The building was later demolished and replaced by housing.

Although the original Prescot church has been converted into apartments, the congregation continues its mission next door at the Prescot Methodist Centre.

Part of the Sankey Valley Methodist Circuit, the church remains a warm, welcoming presence in Knowsley, dedicated to outreach, fellowship, and spiritual growth.

A Warm
Welcome
We have a welcoming community where friendships grow and faith is shared in everyday life.
Regular groups like the Fellowship Support Group, Knit & Natter, and the walking group offer space for conversation, connection, and encouragement.
Through initiatives like our warm welcome cafe, we provide comfort and companionship to those seeking support or simply a friendly face.
The church hall is also home to a variety of local organisations, helping us stay connected to the wider community and support its wellbeing.
Community
Support
Prescot & Whiston Methodist Church is committed to caring for people and the planet through a range of community outreach and support.

We work with SHARE Knowsley to welcome asylum seekers and refugees, offering friendship, practical help, and English lessons.

The church also hosts Zero Waste, providing food to individuals and families to prevent this good going to landfill.

As a Bronze Award Eco Church with A Rocha, we’re doing our part to care for creation, too.
We’re also home to Al-Anon, offering a safe, supportive space for those affected by someone else’s drinking.
