Our Support Work

At Prescot & Whiston Methodist Church, we believe that faith is not only expressed in worship but lived out through service. Outreach is central to our calling, extending God’s love, compassion, and hope to those beyond our congregation. By supporting others in practical ways, we seek to build relationships, meet real needs, and reflect Christ’s care in our wider community. In doing so, we honour our commitment to be a church not just for ourselves, but for all.

SHARe Knowsley

SHARE is a local charity supporting asylum seekers and refugees across Knowsley through practical help and inclusive activities like language classes, women’s groups, and advice sessions. In Prescot, we host a Monday morning drop-in at the Methodist Centre, offering a space to meet others, connect with case workers, and access discounted essentials. We share food, conversation, and celebrate festivals such as Christmas, Eid, and Nowruz together. As a church, we see this as part of our calling to offer welcome, friendship, and dignity to those rebuilding their lives.

Zero Waste

Food

The Zero Waste Prescot  is a community group that focuses on reducing food waste by redistributing surplus food from supermarkets and other sources to local residents.

The Prescot group operates from The Methodist Church on Saturdays 12 noon to 1pm where anyone can collect free food including bread, pastries, flowers, fruit and vegetables and other non perishable items.

Helps to prevent food from going to waste, free food for residents and contributing to caring for our planet.

Eco - Church

We’re now working towards the Silver Award, continuing efforts to reduce our environmental impact and live more sustainably.
